UConn women's hockey unveils 2026-27 schedule

The Huskies have a loaded non-conference slate for the second straight year.

On Thursday, UConn women’s hockey unveiled its schedule for the 2026-27 season. The Huskies will play 34 games in total, with half of those coming at Toscano Family Ice Forum. Start times and ticket information will be announced later, according to the school.

UConn will take the ice for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 19 for a home exhibition with in-state rival Quinnipiac. The Huskies will begin the new campaign in earnest when they travel to St. Cloud State on Sept. 25-26. Their official home opener is set for Oct. 2 vs. Clarkson, the first in a two-game series.

After that, UConn will travel to Princeton for a pair on Oct. 16-17 then will host Mercyhurst on Oct. 23-24. The non-conference schedule concludes with the Nutmeg Classic at Quinnipiac’s M&T Bank Arena on Nov. 27-28. The Huskies, who won the tournament last year for the first time since 2009, will open with Sacred Heart.

UConn’s non-conference schedule features two teams that made the NCAA Tournament — Princeton and either Quinnipiac or Yale —, as well as three others who finished in the 20 of the NPI — Mercyhurst (12), Clarkson (13) and St. Cloud State (18).

Hockey East play begins with a trip to Holy Cross on Oct. 29. UConn’s first 18 league games will be part of weekend series, though it’ll play Maine (Feb. 4), New Hampshire (Feb. 6), Vermont (Feb. 12), Holy Cross (Feb. 13), Boston College (Feb. 18) and Northeastern (Feb. 20) a third time to close out the campaign.

UConn is coming off one of its best seasons in program history. The Huskies won the Hockey East Tournament — their fourth conference title in the last three years — and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the second time. They notched their first victory in the big dance by beating Princeton 4-1, but then fell in the regional final to Penn State, 3-0.
