In its second NCAA Tournament appearance, UConn women’s hockey will play Princeton at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pennsylvania on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. ET. The winner will take on the No. 3 overall seed Penn State on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m. ET.

The Frozen Four is also set to take place at Penn State on March 20 and 22.

The Huskies swept the Tigers in a weekend series at Toscano Family Ice Forum back in October with 2-1 and 3-0 wins. Princeton ultimately finished ninth in the NPI with a 23-10-0 overall record. The Tigers lost to Quinnipiac in the ECAC semifinals. They’ve made the NCAA Tournament four times previously: 2006, 2016, 2019 and 2020.

UConn enters as No. 6 in the NPI after winning the Hockey East championship with a 2-1 double overtime victory over Northeastern on Saturday. The Huskies are 0-1 in the NCAA Tournament, falling to Minnesota Duluth in double OT in 2024.

This season, UConn played three other teams in the field: Princeton, Northeastern, Quinnipiac and Yale. The Huskies went 5-3-0 in those games, though all three losses came against Northeastern.
