UConn women’s hockey unveiled new home and away looks ahead of the 2025-26 season after changing uniform manufacturers over the offseason. Nike, the athletic department’s apparel partner, is no longer producing hockey uniforms so Chris MacKenzie’s program turned to States & Co.

The new threads are similar to their previous ones, though with a few tweaks. On the home whites, the flag blue shoulder yokes are now thinner and trimmed with red, which gives the jersey a vintage feel. The name plates are also different with flag blue letters on the white base. Previously, white letters were situated on the yoke. The front of the collar also features a “Huskies” word mark.

Similarly, the away set has a few small changes. The red stripe with white trim across the front remains, though the look now continues onto the sleeves. The socks also now feature a wide red stripe with white trim, whereas they previously had a red band placed above a slightly thicker white band.

UConn men’s hockey also has a new jersey manufacturer, though the program will maintain its traditional look with only subtle differences from before.
The move to independent uniform providers should benefit both programs. Nike had a ridiculously long turnaround time — think a year and a half or more — which made it difficult to change current jerseys or add new ones.
When Mike Cavanaugh’s team played in Frozen Fenway in 2017, the Huskies were the only participants without a specialty jersey. Five years later, the Huskies couldn’t use Nike so they had to find an alternate manufacturer to produce the legendary “Hook C” jerseys.
There were other issues, too. UConn men’s hockey didn’t have its home white jerseys for the first month and a half of the 2023-24 campaign because of a problem on Nike’s end.
With new suppliers, both programs should have more control over their on-ice look. That potentially means more alternate sets — which UConn women’s hockey currently lacks — or more custom jerseys for special events — such as Skating for Strides or Frozen Fenway.
