UConn men’s hockey will take on 4-seed Boston College in the Hockey East Semifinals on Friday at TD Garden. The Huskies were paired with the Eagles after 2-seed UMass beat 7-seed Northeastern and 8-seed Merrimack knocked off top-seeded Providence in overtime.
This will be just the second postseason meeting between the schools. BC won the first in a wild contest in the 2024 Hockey East Quarterfinals. The Eagles took a three-goal lead just eight minutes in and maintained that advantage into the second intermission. Out of the break, UConn scored three unanswered goals in the first 5:35 of the third period to tie the game at 4-4. Ultimately, BC found the eventual game-winner with 9:25 remaining.
UConn will be making its third appearance at the TD Garden for the Hockey East Semifinals. In its previous trips, the Huskies played the league’s two other Beanpot schools: Northeastern and Boston University. Now, they’ll take on the Eagles.
In the semifinal round, UConn is 2-0 with two decisive victories. However, the Huskies are 0-2 in the championship game.
As the higher seed, UConn will wear white at TD Garden for the first time.
The two semifinal contests are set for 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, though the league has not yet announced when the Huskies will play.
