UConn's offensive woes continue in 5-1 loss to UMass

The Huskies generated more chances on Friday night but still struggled to find the back of the net.

UConn men’s hockey’s scoring troubles continued in a 5-1 loss to the UMass Minutemen on Friday night. The Huskies were held under three goals for the sixth straight game and managed just a single tally for the second consecutive contest.

“We just had a hard time getting pucks by [UMass goalie Michael] Hrabal,” head coach Mike Cavanaugh said.

But unlike its recent performances, UConn's problems weren’t a product of volume. The Huskies fired 38 shots on net, their highest single-game total since they had 42 in a Jan. 3 victory over LIU. They just couldn’t finish.
