UConn men’s hockey landed a set of brothers out of the OHL as forwards Lirim and Nathan Amidovski announced their joint commitment on Saturday. Lirim, an ‘06 prospect listed at 6-1, 181 pounds with a right-handed shot, is 16 months older than Nathan, an ‘08 prospect who stands at 6-2, 170 pounds with a left-handed shot.

Both are set to play in the OHL this upcoming season — Lirim in his fourth year with the North Bay Battalion and Nathan in his second campaign with the Ottawa 67’s.

Lirim was selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild. He’s regarded as a strong skater with a gritty style of play, excelling as a forechecker and penalty killer. In 2024-25, he put up 19 goals and 13 assists in 67 games with the Battalion.

Nathan, like his older brother, is a big body who moves well on the ice. He was a first round pick, 11th overall, in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection and put up four goals and four assists in 52 contests during his rookie season.

The Amidovski brothers are still a few years away from joining the Huskies. Lirim is likely to land in UConn’s 2026 freshman class while Nathan should follow a year or two later.
