UConn men’s hockey’s string of blue line commitments continued on Friday with Shayne Gould, an ‘07 prospect out of Princeton, Massachusetts. Listed at 5-foot-9, 146 pounds with a left-anded shot, he currently plays for the Bishop Kearney Selects 16U AAA in Rochester, new York. In 31 games, he has five goals and 27 assists so far this season.

Puck Preps lists Gould as a five-star recruit and the No. 4 defensemen in the ‘07-born American class. The Scouting News also ranks him as a top-10 blue liner in the class while Neutral Zone has him as the No. 158 overall player among ‘07s.

In May, the Chicago Steel selected Gould in the third round of the 2023 USHL Draft Phase 1. He’s the Huskies’ second-youngest commitment at the moment behind fellow defenseman Anthony Allain-Samaké.

UConn has made headway recruiting defensemen recently — of its eight blue liners currently committed, five have pledged over the last two months.
