UConn men’s hockey added a new commitment out of the State of Hockey: ‘06 forward Brittan Alstead, a native of Plymouth, Minnesota.
Listed at 5-9, 174 pounds with a left-handed shot, Alstead played at Wayzata High School where he put up 16 goals and 29 assists in 28 games as a senior. He then joined the USHL’s Des Moines Buccaneers for the last few games of their season, where he has a goal in three contests.
The Alsteads are a big hockey family. Brittan played alongside his brother, Ryder, and two cousins this past season at Wayzata while his dad and uncle also suited up for the school.
Alstead is UConn’s second-youngest forward currently committed behind only Colin Frank. As an ‘06 prospect, he’ll likely arrive in Storrs in either 2025 or 2026.
