UConn men’s hockey defenseman Jack Pascucci has entered the transfer portal, according to various trackers. The junior has one year of eligibility remaining.
In three seasons with the Huskies, Pascucci played in 41 career games. He saw the most action as a sophomore, making 24 appearances, but his time decreased this past year. Pascucci proved himself to be a steady defensive defenseman but just couldn’t crack UConn’s strong defensive corps in 2024-25.
The Huskies now project to have seven returning defensemen: Senior Tom Messineo; Juniors Viking Gustafsson Nyberg, Owen Simpson and Bauer Swift; Sophomores Kai Janviriya and Trey Scott; Redshirt freshman Kevin Fitzgerald.
If UConn opts into the House settlement, it’ll have a 26-player roster limit. With three goaltenders, the Huskies would likely be limited to 15 forwards and eight defensemen. In that scenario, they would have room to add one addition blue liner to replace Pascucci — assuming no one else departs.
