UConn men’s hockey’s 2023-24 roster is likely complete. On Monday, the Huskies added ‘02 defenseman Bauer Swift, a West Hartford native who most recently played in the NAHL with the Lone Star Brahmas.

"Swifty is going to bring intensity to his new team and we are certain that UConn and the Huskies fans will notice his strong presence on the blue line,” Brahmas head coach and general manager Dan Wildfong said in a release.

After Aidan Metcalfe left the team to focus on school, UConn has been in search of an eighth defenseman to round out the roster.

Swift will join a group of blue liners that also includes fifth-years Jake Flynn and Harrison Rees, seniors Andrew Lucas and John Spetz, sophomores Tom Messineo and Jack Pascucci, and freshman Owen Simpson.

Listed at 6-foot-1 with a right-handed shot, Swift collected five goals and 13 assists in 55 games with the Brahmas and earned a spot in the NAHL’s Top Prospects Tournament. He was previously committed to Division III Hobart College for the upcoming season.
