Every opponent on UConn men’s hockey’s 2024-25 non-conference schedule is now set.
On Thursday, the school announced it’ll face Alaska Fairbanks in the opening contest of the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee on Dec. 28. The Huskies will then take on either Wisconsin or Ferris State the next day, depending on their initial result.
UConn last faced the Nanooks in 2008-09 as part of the Kendall Hockey Classic in Anchorage, Alaska. The Huskies are 1-4 in the all-time series, though this will be the first meeting outside The Last Frontier State.
Alaska Fairbanks is coming off a 17-14-3 campaign in which it finished 25th in Pairwise — one spot behind UConn.
With the matchup locked in, the Huskies are now set to play both Alaska schools this season with the Anchorage Seawolves set to visit Toscano Family Ice Forum on Feb. 12.
