Strong penalty kill, defense carry UConn to 2-1 win over UNH
The Huskies spent over 10 minutes down a man, but still pulled out a victory.

For 11:16 of Friday night’s contest, UConn men’s hockey played down a man to No. 17 New Hampshire — and it didn’t allow a single goal. The Huskies’ defensive special teams shined, killing a major penalty as well as an extended 6-on-5 situation to pull off a much-needed 2-1 win over the Wildcats.
“I thought it was a team effort,” head coach Mike Cavanaugh said. “Found a way to get the three points.”
