Notebook: UConn's fourth line continues ascent with win over UMass Lowell
Ethan Haider also made history with another shutout while the Huskies' empty-net specialist struck again.

Throughout the first 12 games of UConn men’s hockey’s season, the fourth line hadn’t scored a single goal. It was just an energy line — at best, they’d come off the ice having turned the momentum and kept the puck out of the back of the net, but not much beyond that.
Then, the Huskies went up to Boston College and that line ended up playing against some of the most talented players in the country. They didn’t just hold their own — they scored the team’s opening goal and finished +2 in a 5-4 overtime defeat.
“It just happened organically that they wound up playing against one of BC’s better lines and they did well so I kept playing them against them,” head coach Mike Cavanaugh said. “I think they got a lot of confidence from that weekend.”
