On March 28, the NCAA Tournament will kick off with Regionals in Allentown, Pennsylvania; Fargo, North Dakota; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Toledo, Ohio. Two brackets will begin March 28 while the remaining pair start the following day. Two weeks from then, St. Louis will host the Frozen Four on April 10 and 12.
UConn, the 4-seed in the Hockey East Tournament, is on to the semifinals after defeating 5-seed Providence 3-1 on Friday night. The Huskies are inching into the debate for a top seed, with an 25 percent chance to earn a number next to their name in its first NCAA Tournament appearance according to College Hockey News’ Pairwise Probability Matrix. At the very least, UConn will be the designated home team in its first round game because it can’t fall outside the top eight. 3-seed Boston University awaits on Thursday, while 2-seed Maine or 9-seed Northeastern would loom on Friday with a victory.
