UConn men’s hockey will have a new-look roster this season. After losing 13 players to graduation, the transfer portal, the pros and retirement, the Huskies brought in 14 new players — four transfers and 10 freshmen broken down into six forwards, five defensemen and three goaltenders.

Ahead of the opener against Colgate on Friday, head coach Mike Cavanaugh provided a preview of all UConn’s newcomers.

Hugh Larkin (Western Michigan)

“Larkin was a kid that came late, one of those things where I think Western Michigan wanted him back, I just don't think they had money for him. So we felt we needed a couple forwards and I thought he filled that role for us. He's a hard nosed, tough kid that skates pretty well.”
