Matthew Wood breaks out of scoring slump to snap UConn out of losing skid
Wood -- and the Huskies' offense as a whole -- woke up at the perfect time.

Entering Friday night, Matthew Wood hadn’t scored in over a month. In Hockey East play, he hadn’t found the back of the net since Nov. 10. He was the poster child of UConn’s scoring woes.
“He's been snake-bit all year,” head coach Mike Cavanaugh said of the forward.
Wood broke out of that drought in a big way against Northeastern, recording his first collegiate hat trick — including the game-winner — in a 4-3 win that snapped UConn’s four game losing streak.
