Hudson Schandor leads UConn to roller coaster victory over UMass Lowell

When UConn fell behind UMass Lowell 4-3 with 10:54 left to go in regulation on Saturday, the Huskies didn’t look like a team primed to make a comeback. They were out-shot 11-0 to start the final stanza and had just coughed up a two-goal lead for the second straight game.

After starting the new year 6-0-2, they appeared to be free-falling back to earth with a potential third-straight defeat looming.

But UConn captain Hudson Schandor decided that wasn’t going to happen. After the River Hawks pulled ahead, the fifth-year forward helped turn the momentum in the Huskies’ favor in the simplest of ways.

He led his line on one good shift.

“I think our line takes responsibility a lot for how we get things going up front. I don't think we started well so I'll take that one on us,” Schandor explained. “But for us to go back and have a really good shift to get the flow going offensively, I thought the other lines responded really well.”
