Despite a strong 65-minute performance in a 2-2 tie with the No. 10 Boston University Terriers on Tuesday night, No. 9 UConn couldn’t help but shake a feeling of disappointment. For all the Huskies did well throughout the contest, it ended on a sour note with a shootout loss.

“It's tough with a shootout because you feel like you lost, but we didn't lose,” an unusually downtrodden Mike Cavanaugh said postgame. “We tied the game and I was happy with our effort and our compete.”

Yet that mood also represents new territory for the Huskies. In a top-10 matchup, they earned a solid result and still came out disappointed — not because they didn’t play well but because they didn’t end up on top.
