It hasn’t been an easy week for Ryan Tattle. This past Wednesday, he had to fly back home to Vancouver, British Columbia for a “family matter” and only returned to the east coast on a redeye flight that got into New York’s JFK airport at 7 a.m. ET on Friday morning.
Almost 12 hours later, Tattle scored a game-winning goal with 0.5 seconds left to lift UConn men’s hockey past Quinnipiac and into the CT Ice championship game, 2-1. Tattle had both goals for the Huskies.
“It's a pretty good performance for a guy who's been on a plane all night long,” head coach Mike Cavanaugh deadpanned.
