On March 28, the NCAA Tournament will kick off with Regionals in Allentown, Pennsylvania; Fargo, North Dakota; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Toledo, Ohio. Two brackets will begin March 28, while the remaining pair start the following day. Two weeks from then, St. Louis will host the Frozen Four on April 10 and 12.
UConn took care of business to complete the regular season by beating Vermont 4-1 on Thursday. The Huskies finished with 20-10-4 overall, including a 12-8-4 record in Hockey East play. Their .583 conference winning percentage is the third time in four years they’ve finished with that mark and one more win will secure the program’s best overall wining percentage since its first season in Division I (.647).
According to the Pairwise Probability Matrix, UConn is most likely to land at No. 7 (23 percent) or No. 8 (34 percent) in PairWise, paired up with Michigan State in Toledo and Boston College in Manchester, respectively. The Huskies still have an 11 percent chance at a top seed and own 73 percent odds at landing on the 2-line. The rest of their chances are tied up in slipping to a 3-seed.
