On March 27, the NCAA Tournament will kick off with regionals in Allentown, Pennsylvania; Fargo, North Dakota; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Toledo, Ohio. Two brackets will begin first, while the remaining pair start the following day. Two weeks from then, St. Louis will host the Frozen Four on April 10 and 12.
UConn, sitting at 22-10-4, has earned a berth in its second Hockey East Tournament championship game. The 4-seed Huskies will face 2-seed Maine for the Lou Lamiorello Trophy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night.
As far as the NCAA Tournament goes, Mike Cavanaugh’s team can finish between third and sixth in Pairwise, according to College Hockey News’ Pairwise Probability Matrix. Boston College is locked into the No. 1 spot and will go to Manchester, while Michigan State will be No. 2 and in the Toledo regional.
Boston University is going to finish No. 7 in Pairwise to pair with the Spartans, while Providence will finish either Nos. 8 or 9, going to Manchester. This means unless a lot of switches are necessary, the Huskies will be in either Allentown or Fargo.
